Hamilton City Council has appointed Gary Connolly as its new chief financial officer.

Connolly joins Hamilton City Council from Whakatane District Council, where he led several initiatives to enhance financial sustainability and transparency, while driving community-focused outcomes.

He is originally from Ngāruawāhia and joins the council this month.

Anna Cassels-Brown, Peter Stubbs and Rachel Winder have been appointed directors at Waikato Regional Airport Ltd.

Cassels-Brown, the former chief operations officer at Auckland Airport, specialises in operations, governance and people management and has experience across many industries, including the construction, aviation and public sectors.

Stubbs has an extensive background in business law, with over 35 years’ experience across a wide range of industry sectors. He was previous Rotorua Airport chair and chairs the Co-Lab board.

Rukumoana Schaafhausen

Winder brings a strong strategic focus to the board, emphasising a holistic approach to business. She has extensive experience in the property sector and is a member of the Property Council of New Zealand.

Tainui Group Holdings, the commercial entity of Waikato-Tainui has appointed professional director Rukumoana Schaafhausen (Ngaati Hauaa, Waikato-Tainui) to its board.

She will replace outgoing director Tania Simpson who will step down this month after the maximum permitted tenure of nine years.

Warwick Tauwhare-George

Tainui has also appointed Warwick Tauwhare-George (Waikato Tainui, Ngaati Hikairo, Ngaai Tahu – Ngaati Waewae, Ngaati Wheke) as an advisor to the board.

Tauwhare-George has extensive international experience as a leader of commercial entities and has operated in complex stakeholder environments across a number of sectors.
