“We are still working to understand the effect on traffic over the whole project period, but we can confirm the bridge will remain open to two lanes of traffic during Fieldays. We know this was something people have been concerned about so wanted to make this clear.”

Work to begin scaffolding the bridge and setting up the site will start in late October/early November. Hudson strongly encourages all residents to sign-up to a dedicated Victoria Street Bridge community e-newsletter through which Council will share regular updates about the project, including any traffic disruptions.

Council has already confirmed the bridge will remain open at all times to pedestrians and cyclists. “One of our highest priorities is to make sure residents are well informed ahead of time of any disruption to traffic across the bridge and one of the best ways to do this is receive the information straight to your inbox.
