Cambridge is currently the highest growth area in the Waipā district with developments already well advanced in growth cells to the west of the town. When complete the new areas will accommodate 2,500 houses, a new 1000-pupil primary school and a range of commercial areas including a large supermarket. Investment in road and rail within the region continues to unlock our district socially and economically further enhancing Waipā’s appeal.

Recently, our town opened and celebrated Te Awa River Ride’s newest section.The $6.7 million section links the Grassroots Trust Velodrome with Hooker Rd in Tamahere and includes three bridges, 5.4km of concrete footpath as well as 1.2km of timber boardwalk. When complete, Te Awa will be a 65km shared cycle/walkway running largely alongside the Waikato River, between Ngāruawāhia and Lake Karāpiro.
