Offering a complete soft fit out service means commercial furniture specialist Modern Office can take care of all aspects of a project, delivering the client the finished result with less hassle. Modern Office is proud of this full service which they’ve perfected over the last 15 years. The result has seen satisfied clients in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato and a growing reputation for being a reliable supplier across this region and the rest of the country.

David Littlewood and business partner Adam Hazlett started Modern Office in 2007 and the team now consists of sales, marketing and procurement professionals, as well as an installation team that can deliver, install and relocate commercial furniture.

With many years of experience in the office furniture and soft fit out sector, Modern Office has forged a respected reputation with architects and designers and some of New Zealand’s best quality manufacturers and suppliers. They also import their own furniture range under the Mobel brand, and operating from a 1200 sqm warehouse in Tauranga means Modern Office has steady stock levels and ready supply to take care of clients’ needs quickly and efficiently.

Juliet Scott is Modern Office’s Waikato representative. With over 20 years’ of experience in Office Furniture sales, Juliet is well-versed on workspace requirements. She loves the variety of this industry, as every enquiry is different, each customer’s requirements are unique and the office as we know it keeps evolving. She loves going on this journey with a client and seeing the end result.

Within the Waikato, Modern Office are making their mark; they were honoured to recently work with Waikato Regional Council to provide office furniture for their new premises, and also relocated existing office furniture to ensure a cost effective solution. This was their largest project to date in the region, and one that they’re extremely proud of.

Modern Office customised a solution to fit the council’s needs, sourcing flexible and ergonomic furniture specifically suited to their budget and the requirements of its team of over 500 staff. Competitive pricing, an ability to deliver what the client needed, project management around the installation and after sales service were key factors that won Modern Office the tender on this project.

The team has also worked within many other sectors including health care and real estate in the Waikato region, assisting a local Waikato health provider with refurbishing their three floors of office space to create a more functional, modern work environment that supports the needs of a highly functional team.

Modern Office has a strong presence in the real estate sector having worked with many real estate companies in Hamilton to date by not only completing fit outs, but also offering a floor-planning service including rendered drawings to bring a space to life.

The team has fitted out co-working spaces to supply furniture to suit the requirements of each tenant and still maintain consistency in design, and work with existing customers who are experiencing growth within their local office or expanding into the regions with new office spaces. Modern Office is eager to grow with clients and help their workspace evolve as the business grows and changes over time.

Modern Office provides furniture such as task chairs and desks but specialises in entire office fit-outs, taking care of clients’ changing needs. With a head office in Tauranga and a growing presence in the Waikato and other regions across New Zealand, Modern Office’s longevity and experience in the industry has meant many successful furniture fit out projects have been completed.

The team is keen to build on this success by offering great products and professional service, and added value to help clients to increase productivity while reducing costs. Their furniture allows a changing workspace to reflect its evolving and growing business and they pride themselves on placing office furniture that is built to last the years and building strong and positive ongoing relationships with clients.

Onwards and upwards to the next 15 years!
