A decision may be made in late June on Provincial Growth Fund support for Waikato Regional Theatre.
Charitable trust Momentum Waikato has a $15 million application in to the fund, which chief executive Kelvyn Eglinton says would enable the $73.9 million project to go ahead.
The 1300-seat performing arts centre is planned for Victoria Street in central Hamilton.
An independent panel has reviewed the application and has requested some further information. The extra step means it may be at this month’s ministerial meeting that the decision will be made, at the earliest.
That sees Momentum expecting to hear more in late June.
