Australia’s largest fibreglass pool manufacturer, and now proudly New Zealand’s largest pool manufacturer, has opened a production facility in Hamilton.
The state-of-the-art facility in Frankton will manufacture pools for the New Zealand market and export to the South Pacific, bringing a boost for the local economy with new jobs and commitment to development in the community.
For more than 15 years, Australian based Narellan Pools has brought dreams to life in New Zealand homes with an extensive network of expert local pool builders, with projections to build 500 pools across the North and South Islands in the next 12 months. That investment expanded with the opening of the manufacturing facility in May.
“New Zealand was an obvious choice for our facility because of the opportunities in the market and our fantastic dealer network,” says group managing director Chris Meyer.
As a rapidly growing global business, he said New Zealand was an ideal export hub for its Pacific operations.
“We chose Hamilton as it’s the perfect logistics hub for transporting our pools to the North and South Islands and there is a high calibre of local employees,” he said.
He said Hamilton City Council had been receptive and supportive of their plans.

City councillor Geoff Taylor attended the opening of the facility and said the significant investment by Narellan Pools demonstrated a welcome confidence in the market. “Narellan Pools is a perfect fit for our community. Their business is based on building quality pools, exceeding customer expectations and investing in their people. We are excited to welcome them to Hamilton.”
Through strategic manufacturing expansion, Narellan Pools would remain at the forefront of the Pool and Spa industry and continue to provide clients with high-quality pools, now built in New Zealand, Meyer said.
The opening of this manufacturing facility is another milestone in Narellan Pools’ ever-growing global presence and a testament to the strong commitment to remain the largest distributer and accelerate New Zealand’s growth plans.
