An impressive home in Cambridge has been recognised as the best new build in this year’s Waikato Registered Master Builders 2019 House of the Year competition.
The exceptional home took out the Supreme Award, the top award for the Waikato region.
The home’s builders, Vida Homes, also won a Gold award and took out the CARTERS New Home $1 million – $1.5million category.
Judges said they were impressed with the faultless build, which demonstrated detailed workmanship from all involved.
“This home has been finished to perfection. The thoughtful and precise attention to detail is clear throughout the home. From the outside in, the high-quality is evident in the implementation of the home’s external cladding and decking.
“There is complex carpentry throughout the build and the selection of product and finishing lines are all consistent with the home’s established architectural style.
“Vida Homes has delivered a home that is well deserving of the Supreme Award.”
The results of the regional competition were revealed at a gala dinner on Friday August 2 at the Claudelands Event Centre. The winning builds were celebrated by the region’s Registered Master Builders and members of the local construction industry.
Overall there were 12 Gold Award winners from the Waikato area, which will now be judged against Gold Award winners from around the country to find the National Top 100 Gold Award finalists.
National category winners and the Registered Master Builders Supreme Awards for House of the Year and Renovation of the Year will be announced at a gala dinner on November 23 at Cordis Hotel in Auckland.
The Awards are made possible through the support of Altus Windows, Bunnings Trade, CARTERS, GIB, Master Build Services 10 Year Guarantee, PlaceMakers, Plumbing World, and Resene.

About the Registered Master Builders 2019 House of the Year
The competition is divided into two parts – the first is at a regional level, the second is at a national level.
Gold, Silver and Bronze Award winners are determined using a points-based system. These award-winners were announced at 10 regional events held throughout New Zealand during July and August.
The top 100 homes from the regions will go on to the national awards.
They will be re-judged by a panel of national judges, who will determine the overall national winners. These will be announced at the National event in Auckland on November 23.
