Sport stars to fore on Balloons board

Balloons - PeopleThere’s a sporting look to Balloons over Waikato’s new board as it closes in on its 20th anniversary in 2019.

Former Black Cap Rob Hart has been appointed chairman and former Silver Ferns coach Ruth Aitken  a trustee.

Rob Hart is a director at Ellice Tanner Hart Lawyers and has been a trustee for more than 10 years.  He is a former Black Cap and Northern Districts cricket captain, and his appointment comes as outgoing chairman Craig Hobbs moves to Auckland.

Rob Hart’s most recent appointments are with General Finance Limited and recent start-up Waikato The Osteopathic Children’s Foundation Charitable Trust.

Ruth Aitken became a trustee in August. She is currently helping Waikato/Bay of Plenty Netball with netballers and coaches.

Balloons over Waikato celebrates its 20th birthday with a slightly different format.

The event will run from Tuesday, March 19 to Saturday, March 23, ending with the ZURU Nightglow.
