The idea is favoured over creating special Maori wards where only Maori can be elected or a Maori advisory committee which advises the council. Is it a good idea?

Waikato Business News readers are pessimistic about the future of the economy – but not overly so. Fifty-one percent predict the economy will decline over the next year but a solid 33 percent are still optimistic it will improve while the rest predict the status quo. Hopefully Sir John Key’s recent warning about a slowdown in the global economy doesn’t come to fruition.
