Move crowns big year for Dynamo6

At the end of a stellar year, Dynamo6 celebrated the opening of its new loft style office in Wiseman Central. Dynamo6 has taken the entire first floor of the two storey Edwardian building.

Dynamo6’s former premises were in Garden Place but growth led to a search for new space, about the same time Stark Property bought the Begg’s Wiseman heritage building with the intention of bringing it back to life.

“It was almost coincidence,” says Igor Matich, managing director of Dynamo6, “as Matt Stark and I had been talking for a while about our need to move and whether he had anything suitable in the pipeline, and then this building came up.”

“From the outside, the building looks like it would have 100 years ago but walk in and the construction is modern, with 100 percent strengthening and a twist of heritage including the original roof to give it a loft feel, and polished wood floors,” Matt Stark says. “There aren’t many similar heritage buildings in Hamilton CBD so we wanted to provide something different.”

Designer, Alexander Wastney, from Designwell, aimed at creating a space that was highly productive and collaborative but also inspiring for its staff and clients.

“The fit-out celebrates the heritage of the building but also has some fun brand elements like the pink air conditioning duct, copper kitchen and hanging greenery shelves at the end of each desk,” he says.

2017 has been a good year for Dynamo6 as it continues to appear on the radar of an increasing number of companies wanting to use technology to create competitive advantage.

In September the company won the Professional Services category of the CBD Celebration Awards, and in October Igor Matich won Start-up Entrepreneur of the Year at the Reseller News ICT Industry Awards. The Dynamo6 launch party also gave the guests a chance to sample the best brews from local craft brewer, Good George, at a Pop-Up bar.
